Robert Halsey PineBob Pine was born at Newark, Ohio, in 1943, and grew up in Rockville, Maryland, a suburb of Washington, D.C. He is a graduate of Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, and attended the U.S. Naval Academy and New Mexico Military Institute. Bob completed the program of Theological Education by Extension; Education for Ministry as provided and administered by the School of Theology, the University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee. He met his wife Penny in England while in the Navy. They have two sons Matthew and Robert Jr. Bob works for a metals recycling company in the Gadsden, Alabama area, his family's home since 1969. He is an active member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter, Gadsden where he is a Eucharistic Minister. He is involved in prison ministry (KAIROS) participating in retreats and regular visits with inmates. Bob is a leader in his church and community. In 1993 Bob had an uplifting experience while going through brain surgery for the removal of a tumor. God's revelation to Bob during his illness has changed his life forever. This comes through in his meditations on the Word of the Lord in his daily devotionals. ~ "Bob Pine is one of those rare Christians who can observe the world around him, and see the hand of God at work and not confuse it with human endeavor.
